
Greg (Chili) Barbaro grew up playing ball in New York and later moved to San Antonio where he lettered three years at San Antonio Reagan High School. Greg began his collegiate career playing catcher and 3rd base at Labette Community College. One year later, he was signed to go play at the University of the Incarnate Word as a catcher under the management of pitching coach John Maley and two-time World Series Champion Danny Heep. Chili ended his career at UIW hitting .300. He was also second in slugging and doubles with two triples and a homerun to cap off his final season. Since the age of 8, Chili has been under professional instruction in hitting, catching and fielding by former big leaguer’s such as Ken Pape, Mike Kripner, and Larry Czeszewski. Barbaro has coached for different select organizations in San Antonio and has also held a head coaching job St. Matthews Catholic school. where he and the cardinals fell one game shy of the championship. Barbaro plans on impacting the lives of kids and young men the way past coaches have impacted his.
